The Seagrave Fire Apparatus Company is the oldest manufacturer of fire apparatus. It was established in Detroit, Michigan in 1881 by Frederic Seagrave. Afterwards in 1891, the factory relocated to Columbus, Ohio, and began to thrive. In 1963, the company was acquired by the FWD Corporation and was introduced to its current headquarters in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Recently, the Seagrave Company built a new plant in Clintonville. It added more than 130,000 square feet to its manufacturing capacity in order to better assemble new equipment.
